BTEC Business at Kingston College students returned to Barcelona this year for another enriching international study trip, gaining first‑hand insight into global business practices, marketing and cultural influences. The visit offered students the opportunity to experience how international organisations operate beyond the UK while bringing classroom learning to life.

A key highlight of the trip was a visit to Codorníu Winery, where students explored various aspects of production, marketing and international trade within a globally recognised brand. The experience concluded with a fascinating train tour through the historic underground cellars, giving students a unique perspective on heritage branding and large‑scale operations.

The group also took in some of Barcelona’s most iconic sights, including a cable‑car journey to Montjuïc Castle, where they enjoyed panoramic views across the city and coastline. The trip ended on a high with an open‑deck boat cruise along the coast, offering stunning views of the Barcelona skyline and beaches while reflecting on the learning gained throughout the visit.

Business Lecturer Jackie Monae shared:

“This was my second year organising the trip to Barcelona and again it was a relevant educational experience for the Business students to experience international businesses and marketing in a different country. It also gave them an insight into the cultural aspects of international businesses and how they operate.”

The trip proved to be both educational and inspiring, helping students build confidence, broaden their global outlook and deepen their understanding of international business environments.
